No, im not
a book worm, I like to read from time to time, but now I have to read tons of
books because of the university. When I was
child I hate to read, in the school I took the whole month to read the book
that we must read.
Now I like
more to read. I don´t like to categorize what kind of books I prefer. If it
called my attention has a lot of possibilities to being read. My favourite
book, when I was a child was “Las descabelladas aventuras de Julito Cabello”,
but when I was in 5th grade someone stole it from my class room. Now
I think my favourite author is Edgar Allan Poe, I can read his compilation book
whenever I want. But a book that I think is my favourite is “Carlomagno” by
Harold Lamb.
The last
book that I read was “La semana en que se juntan los siglos”. I enjoy it but I can’t
finish because I read it in the summer and it was about 500 pages, and when I enter
to the university I prioritized it, so it have about 30 pages left to finish it
. It was a gift from my grandmother when I left the school, in November of
2011, so from then to all along the summer, I was reading it.
The book is
about a conspiracy in the Chilean army who wants to give a tribute to Augusto
Pinochet as a founding father. So, the main character founds a tunnels
underneath the center of Santiago, in where was hide the body of Pinochet and
he have to protect the president because all this was occurring during the week
of the celebration of bicentenary, so the president was in a difficult position
because the army was pulling pressure to him to accept the things that they want,
and also stop a war with Perú, because the army stole a submarine and they
threaten to attack the Peru’s army. I recommend it because is interesting how
the author, who don’t give us his name, write this book including a lot of
military things and creating a situation that could happen. It is a good book
but a little slow in the story but in the final chapter it stoles your
attention.
